Job summary
A leading company in the drilling industry is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to coordinate production tasks and provide technical support. You will manage manufacturing processes, troubleshoot issues, and promote workplace safety in a dynamic team environment. The ideal candidate has experience in sheet metal production and proficiency in CAD/CAM software.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in a sheet metal production environment.
- Proficient in CAD/CAM software, especially SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with AMADA machines/software is a plus.

Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate with trained operators to ensure proper staffing for production tasks.
- Check material quantities upon receipt and update work orders and inventory in the ERP system.
- Ensure production processes are carried out under controlled and standardised conditions.
- Provide technical and operational support to resolve daily issues on the production floor.
- Troubleshoot and resolve process-related problems or inefficiencies.
- Report any quality or production issues to the Section Manager or Section Head promptly.
- Assist in updating Work Instructions and Operating Procedures to improve processes.
- Support QA in failure analysis and identifying corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Identify work-related risks and implement appropriate safety measures.
- Promote workplace safety and EHS awareness through training and daily practices.
- Manage time effectively and prioritise tasks to meet production deadlines.
Job Requirements
- ITE or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in a sheet metal production environment.
- Proficient in CAD/CAM software, especially SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Hands-on experience with sheet metal, plastic, and rubber materials, and processes such as laser cutting, turret punching, bending, CNC, and welding.
- Familiarity with AMADA machines/software is a plus.
- Good understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and technical documentation.
- Comfortable using SAP, MES, Agile tools, Microsoft Office, and design automation tools.
- Strong team player with good communication skills and a proactive mindset.
