Job summary

NEXWAVE TECHNOLOGIES PTE LTD is seeking a proactive Storage Engineer to manage and optimize storage infrastructure. You will handle log analysis, capacity planning, patch testing, and vulnerability remediation while training client staff.

You will conduct monthly reviews, handle SOW changes, and perform root cause analysis in a fast-paced environment requiring shift work. 1-year contract.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS/IT or related field.

• Hands-on OceanStor storage configuration and migration experience.

Job description

We are seeking a proactive Engineer to join our dynamic team, specializing in the management, optimization, and maintenance of storage infra structure. Key responsibilities include log analysis, configuration optimization, patch management, capacity planning, vulnerability remediation, and customer training, often requiring shift work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proactively reviewing configurations, generating reports, managing capacity, and identifying improvements based on best practices.
• Testing patches, implementing changes, and fixing vulnerabilities on customer's storage hardware/software.
• Training customer staff and increasing their understanding of clients' solutions.
• Conducting monthly reviews, managing the Statement of Work (SOW) changes, and performing Root Cause Analysis.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Over5 years of experience specializing in S3-compliant object storage, focusing on Cloud Object Storage Service (OBS). Proficient in OBS bucket configuration, lifecycle management, and fine-grained access control(IAM/policies).
• Deep hands-on experience in configuring OceanStor storage (Pacific Series). Expert in migrating data to Cloud using Object Storage Migration Service(OMS) (e.g., from S3 to OBS) and block storage migration using Smart Migration.
• Proficient in using OceanStor Device Manager or DME (Data Management Engine) for monitoring storage performance, capacity management, and generating alarms. Skilled in proactive incident response and troubleshooting for Object/Block storage.
• Strong fundamental knowledge in Linux/Unix Systems administration (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat, Solaris, AIX) and basic Windows networking, essential for storage mounting and agent installation (e.g., S3fs, backup agents).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, focusing on customer requirements and service-level continuity.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Must be able to perform shift work and commit 1-year contract.
