Job summary

Seagate Technology in Woodlands, Singapore invites a seasoned Sputter Equipment Engineer to join the Recording Media Operations Sputter Equipment Engineering team. You will install, upgrade and maintain UHV sputter systems, lead projects, and collaborate with software, process, and maintenance teams to ensure top performance.

With at least 5 years in high vacuum tooling and a strong hands-on approach, you will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, drive improvements, and mentor junior

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience installing/maintaining high vacuum CVD/PVD systems in a cleanroom.
• Excellent troubleshooting capabilities.
• Knowledge of thin-film/PVD/CVD/Etch/ion beam/UHV tools is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Install, upgrade and maintain the sputter system.
• Project manage assigned projects within schedule.
• Lead technical meetings and discussions.
• Troubleshoot and rework mechanical and electrical issues.
• Generate daily reports and CLCA closures.

Recording Media Operations (RMO) Sputter Equipment Engineering team – Be responsible to engineer solutions in the field of mechanical, electrical/electronics, PLC, software & controls, and advanced analytic system, and provide technical & engineering support to enhance ultra-high vacuum (UHV) sputter machines with upgrades to improve OEE, unscheduled/scheduled downtime, operations, process capabilities, indirect material (IDM)/hardware/consumables cost reduction, productivity, new product conversion requirements & readiness, media performance and defects reduction.

About The Role - You Will

• Install, upgrade and maintain the sputter system.
• Project manage any projects assigned within stipulated schedule.
• Involve in any technical meetings/discussion.
• Troubleshooting and rework for both mechanical and electrical issues.
• Generate reports – daily updates, issues, Closed Loop Corrective Action (CLCA).
• Collaborate closely with cross functional teams – Software, Process, Launch, Maintenance, Equipment Development Engineering.
• Able to lead team of junior Engineers and Technicians (ES).
• Provide continuous improvement projects to improve system performance or enhanced working protocol.
• Practical and hand on work is essential to complete the assign task
• Mature in dealing with a multi-level department and personnel

Your Experience Includes

• Bachelor in Engineering or any relevant fields with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in installing and maintaining high vacuum CVD/PVD systems in a cleanroom environment.
• Excellent troubleshooting capabilities.
• Knowledge of Thin Film / PVD / CVD / Etch / Ion Beam / Ion Implantation / Ultra-High Vacuum tool is an added advantage.
