Job Description
At Micron, the Contamination Control Engineer at FAB 10 will play a vital role in maintaining environmental quality control by collaborating with various teams to prevent contamination in the manufacturing process. Key responsibilities include responding to alerts, addressing contamination alarms, sampling for contamination, ensuring real-time monitoring systems (Airborne Particle, Airborne Molecular, Liquid Particle) are functioning, conducting investigations, supporting engineering projects, and serving as a contamination control resource. The role also involves improving process conditions, upgrading capabilities, developing management projects, setting up equipment parameters, evaluating new materials, and analyzing abnormal conditions.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Respond to ERT and Security alerts, ensuring gowning room logistics are adequate during evacuations.
- Address contamination alarms and report abnormal conditions to engineering and stakeholders.
- Sample various areas of the Fab for contamination (swab, bacteria, airborne and liquid particles, and airborne molecular contamination), collaborate with the chemical lab for timely analysis.
- Ensure real-time monitoring systems are operating and recording properly.
- Conduct primary investigations on contamination issues and provide data to engineering for analysis.
- Complete special projects and support contamination control engineering initiatives.
- Ensure team members practice approved cleanroom protocols.
- Serve as a contamination control resource for the Fab, Probe, Facilities, and supporting groups.
- Contribute actively to areas of responsibility.
- Establish and improve process conditions and technology.
- Upgrade process capability and reduce production costs.
- Develop and modify process management projects.
- Set up process parameters for various semiconductor equipment.
- Evaluate, promote, and plan new equipment/materials.
- Analyze and improve abnormal conditions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical/ environmental engineering/chemistry is preferred or related field of study
- Must be able to work in cleanroom environment
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse variety of people.
- Basic proficiency in software skills, such as MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic knowledge of analytical technique, such as Ion chromatography, gas chromatography and particle analyzers, etc. is a plus
- Must be able to work swing shift
