Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Singapore is seeking an Engineer, Product Yield Enhancement (PYE) to drive physical failure analysis of memory devices.

You will perform fault isolation, de-capsulation, and circuit edit support, contributing to yield, quality, and reliability improvements through root-cause investigations and data-driven actions. You will collaborate with Product Engineering, Process Integration, Manufacturing, and Quality teams, maintain lab readiness, and ensure adherence to safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics, Microelectronics, Mechatronics or Materials Science.
• At least 2 years of experience in Physical Failure Analysis (PFA) or related semiconductor settings.
• Experience supporting semiconductor failure analysis, device characterization, defect analysis, or yield improvements.

Responsibilities

• Become a subject matter contributor in physical failure analysis (PFA), circuit edit, and de-capsulation methods.
• Perform failure analysis to identify defect locations, failure mechanisms, and electrical failure modes in memory devices.
• Analyze device architecture, fabrication processes, device operation and physics to support root-cause investigations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to present analysis results and support corrective actions for yield, quality and reliability.
• Maintain readiness and utilization of laboratory equipment, analytical tools and failure analysis methodologies.
• Adhere to laboratory safety requirements, operational procedures and quality standards.

The Engineer, Product Yield Enhancement (PYE) supports physical failure analysis activities for memory products through fault isolation, de‑capsulation, circuit edit support, and failure characterization. The role contributes to yield, quality, and reliability improvement by identifying failure mechanisms and providing actionable technical findings. Working closely with Product Engineering, Process Integration, Manufacturing, and Quality teams, the engineer performs analytical investigations, supports root‑cause analysis, and maintains safe laboratory practices while building expertise in PFA methodologies and semiconductor device behavior.

Main Responsibilities

• Become a subject matter contributor in physical failure analysis (PFA), circuit edit, and de‑capsulation methods, tools, and techniques.
• Perform failure analysis activities to identify defect locations, failure mechanisms, and electrical failure modes in memory devices.
• Analyze device architecture, fabrication processes, device operation, and device physics to support root‑cause investigations.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to present analysis results and support corrective actions for yield, quality, and reliability improvements.
• Maintain readiness and effective utilization of laboratory equipment, analytical tools, and failure analysis methodologies.
• Adhere to laboratory safety requirements, operational procedures, and quality standards.

• Document technical findings, analysis results, and learnings in accordance with organizational standards.
• Support continuous improvement activities related to laboratory capability, operational efficiency, and knowledge sharing.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Microelectronics, Mechatronics, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in Physical Failure Analysis (PFA), semiconductor fabrication, or assembly work setting.
• Experience supporting semiconductor failure analysis, device characterization, defect analysis, or yield improvement activities.

Must-Have Technical Skills

• Knowledge of physical failure analysis techniques, de‑capsulation methods, and circuit edit processes.
• Understanding of semiconductor device operation, device physics, memory architecture, and fabrication processes.
• Experience with electrical fault isolation, failure mechanism analysis, and root‑cause investigation methodologies.
