Job description

What the role is:

We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Commercial Asset Management Department. You will be responsible for overseeing the facilities management of a portfolio of commercial properties. This role offers a dynamic mix of new development coordination, maintenance planning, and upgrading works, with a strong emphasis on mechanical asset lifecycle management.

What you will be working on:

You will provide leadership, strategic guidance, and analytical capability on activities impacting the properties’ electrical and mechanical components. Key responsibilities include:
  1. Conducting comprehensive stocktakes of existing M&E systems and installations, planning for servicing, and recommending proactive maintenance regimes to ensure equipment oversight and performance standards.
  2. Reviewing, consolidating, and migrating M&E term contracts to outcome/performance-based contracting, and aligning workflows with IT systems and technologies for digitization.
  3. Identifying suitable M&E projects for Agile Proof of Concepts.
  4. Budgeting for M&E initiatives, including cost-benefit analysis and tracking budget utilization and savings.
  5. Overseeing design development, project management, and facility management of both new and existing commercial properties.

What we are looking for:

  • A strong background in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience in facilities management, project management, consultancy, or building services.
  • Technical expertise in air-conditioning systems in commercial buildings.
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills to manage multiple stakeholders.
