Responsibilities:

  • Project manage and lead a program for efficient site survey and deployment of SPTel’s dark fibre and lighted connectivity services from Central Exchanges to MDF rooms to non-residential premises.
  • Complete and submit all applications and documents as requested by building owners before approval is granted to start work.
  • Network infrastructure planning and maintenance includes updating of GIS.
  • Project manage contractors and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Prepare project paper for customer sign-off.
  • On-site supervision of projects is required with progress reports for submission to Management.
  • Manage conflict resolution regarding payment, access, and installation.
  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end in-building deployment to ensure service delivery is completed within stipulated service levels.
  • Lead and manage fibre diversion and maintenance projects ensuring timely completion.
  • Lead in service recovery related to fibre disruption within the assigned zone.
  • Assist the Head, Access Engineering in acquiring special project sites for deploying customer’s equipment.
  • Provide standby support after office hours when needed.
  • Update As-Built / project completion reports in GIS.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by superior from time to time.

Role Requirements:

  • Diploma in telecommunication, computer engineering, or IT related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in passive infrastructure operations (inside or outside plant operations).
  • Strong or good technical knowledge of dark fibre recovery and maintenance.
  • Familiar with site acquisition and deployment of in-building telco facilities and assets.
  • Able to negotiate and work with difficult clients and strong project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with contractors, colleagues, and building management team / developers.
  • Independent, self-driven, highly customer-focused and able to work under high-pressure environments especially during emergency restoration of telecommunications services.
  • Good communication skills, keen to learn, and a team player.
  • Applicants with a class 3 driving license will have an added advantage.
