Job summary

ASM is a leading provider of advanced semiconductor equipment. We seek an Engineer in the Field Service team to be the face of ASM at customer sites, ensuring our equipment performs at its best and supporting customer success.

This role thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and requires passion for solving technical challenges. You will travel domestically and internationally, qualify equipment, develop action plans, and communicate solutions clearly while reporting outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of field service engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience in manufacturing, final assembly, or testing of semiconductor capital equipment.
• Familiarity with structured problem-solving techniques such as Fish Bone Diagram, Kepner Tregoe, or 8D analysis.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair ASM semiconductor equipment at customer sites.
• Liaise with customers to qualify equipment and ensure satisfaction during installation.
• Develop and execute action plans to resolve technical issues and communicate solutions clearly.
• Identify and implement improvements to hardware, software, and service processes.
• Prepare detailed service reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Support special assignments and cross-functional projects as needed.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required.

What we are looking for

• Experience working in a wafer fab environment.
• Knowledge of closed-loop gas and vacuum control, electro-pneumatic systems or robotics systems
• Basic understanding of software systems and SAP applications.
• Awareness of safety protocols related to toxic or flammable gases and acids
