Job Summary
The Engineer is responsible for supporting and optimizing the electroplating, surface finishing, precision cleaning processes to ensure consistent product quality, operational efficiency, and compliance with safety and quality standards. This role works closely with cross‑functional teams to evaluate materials, chemicals, and process parameters, while driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yield, reliability, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams for GAP analysis for process compliance and develop control plan.
- Troubleshoot and resolve process or quality‑related issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain stable plating performance via root cause analysis (5‑whys and 8Ds).
- Establish and comply to continuous improvement program via corrective and preventive action (CAPA).
- Conduct in‑process and final inspections, including surface finish evaluations, thickness measurements, and visual quality checks in accordance with specifications, standards, and work instructions (ISO9001, AS9100D, NADCAP).
- Ensure consistent product quality through effective process control, contamination prevention, and continuous improvement practices.
- Provide technical guidance and training to operators on plating process control, defect prevention, and cleanroom or handling best practices.
- Oversee proper use and maintenance of cleanroom equipment, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and chemical handling procedures.
- Ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, cleanroom, and company quality management system requirements.
- Participate in internal and customer audits, as well as process qualification or validation activities where required.
- Support Management with ad‑hoc duties or improvement projects related to process enhancement, equipment upgrades, or operational excellence.
Qualifications and Requirement
- Diploma or Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in electroplating, surface finishing, semiconductor manufacturing, or chemical process environments is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with hands‑on experience in process troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of electroplating chemistry, wet processes, or surface treatment technologies preferred.
- Ability to work in cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environments.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
