Job Summary:
We are looking for a versatile and detail-oriented Civil & Structural Engineer to manage ad hoc civil works. The role involves both technical supervision and contract administration, covering works such as fender systems, under-pipe replacements, and berth inspections. The ideal candidate should possess a good understanding of procurement procedures and be proficient in using the client’s Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS) for billing and tracking purposes.
What You'll Do:
Manage and oversee adhoc civil and structural maintenance works, including:
Fender repair and replacement
Under-pipe support and replacement
Structural and berth inspections
Prepare scope of works, cost estimates, and technical documentation
Liaise with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of works
Administer procurement processes including:
Application of Fixed Schedule of Rates (FSOR)
Preparation and verification of Final Bills of Quantities (FBQ)
Evaluation of variation orders and claims
Utilize the client’s EAMS platform for billing, work tracking, and submission of supporting documentation
Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards specific to the port environment
Maintain accurate records of site activities, billing submissions, and contract documentation
Support both engineering and commercial aspects of project execution
What You'll Need:
Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Quantity Surveying
3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in marine, port, or infrastructure maintenance projects
Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, measurement, and contract administration
Familiar with procurement models such as FSOR and FBQ
Experience using asset management or billing systems (EAMS experience is a plus)
Strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills
Able to work independently in a fast-paced port environment
