A leading company in aviation engineering is seeking an Engine Test Performance & Facility Engineer to oversee performance analysis of CFM LEAP engines and ensure compliance with safety standards. This role involves significant collaboration with OEMs and requires a strong background in gas turbine testing. The Engine Test Performance & Facility Engineer is responsible for analysing CFM LEAP engine test performance, other commercial engines performance and test facility performance. The role involves ensuring test cell performance, maintaining facility readiness, and interpreting test data to validate engine health and performance. The engineer will collaborate closely with OEMs, maintenance teams, and quality assurance to meet regulatory and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and support CFM LEAP engine test runs and other commercial engine model test runs.
Analyse engine performance data, validate results against OEM specifications, and troubleshoot anomalies.
Ensure test cell infrastructure (instrumentation, control systems, data acquisition and control system, etc.) is calibrated, functional, and compliant with safety and quality standards.
Implement and maintain compliance with aviation regulations, OEM engine test procedures, and SIAEC policies.
Support engine test correlation and qualification activities with OEMs and partners.
Identify opportunities to improve test cell efficiency, accuracy, and throughput.
Assist in root cause investigations for failed tests or out-of-tolerance parameters.
Prepare technical reports, data summaries, and performance documentation.
Participate in facility upgrades, new test equipment commissioning, and technology evaluations.
Interface with operations, engineering, and customer support teams to align testing outcomes with business and customer needs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in gas turbine engine testing, preferably with CFM LEAP engines.
Proficient in interpreting engine performance data, OEM manuals, and technical drawings.
Hands-on experience with test instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and engine control units.
Familiarity with FAA/EASA regulations and MRO environments is an advantage.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Able to work in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment and may require working in rotating shifts as need to support continuous test cell operations.
Preferred:
Experience with test cell correlation.
Familiarity with SAP or other engineering data systems.
