Qualifications

• Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and licensed to practice.
• BCLS & AED certified.
• Relevant field experience in SAF or SCDF is a plus.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt under pressure.
• COVID-19 vaccination up to date.

Responsibilities

• Lead medical transport crew or EMT and support Paramedic.
• Respond promptly to calls and provide immediate medical assistance at the scene.
• Assess patient condition and determine required level of care.
• Administer pre-hospital treatment for stable patients and assist Paramedic for unstable patients.
• Ensure safe and timely transfer of patients to hospitals or healthcare facilities.
• Document patient information and treatment accurately for medical records.
• Operate ambulance equipment safely and perform routine equipment checks.

About the role

An Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is a healthcare professional who provides emergency medical care to patients in emergency and non-emergency situations, often as part of an ambulance crew. They respond to emergency calls, assess patients' conditions, and provide medical interventions like administering oxygen or IV fluids while transporting patients to a hospital. EMTs are trained to handle a wide range of emergencies, from minor injuries to life-threatening conditions.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Medical Response

• Crew Leader of Medical Transport Ambulance or EMT for Emergency Ambulance, supporting the Paramedic
• Respond promptly to calls and provide immediate medicalassistanceat the scene
• Assess the condition of patients who are injured or ill anddeterminetheappropriate levelof carerequired.
• Administer pre-hospital treatment for stable patients.
• Assist Paramedic in pre-hospital treatment for unstable patients
• Ensure the safe andtimelytransfer of patients to hospitals or healthcare facilities (eg.Dialysis Centre)
• Provide Medical Coverage for High-Risk Events
• Accurately document patient information, treatment provided, and other relevant details for medical records.Ensureaccuratedocumentation of patient care and transport activities
  

2. Operations

• Able tooperateall medical equipment in the ambulance safely and effectively.
• Perform routine checks and maintenance of ambulance equipment toensure readiness at all times.
  

Requirements & Qualifications

• Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
• Certification of BCLS & AED
• Relevant field experience in SAF or SCDF is an added advantage
