Job summary

AEM SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is looking for an embedded firmware engineer to design and implement software for STM32-based control systems in Singapore.

You will write, test, and maintain C firmware, build Python tools, and collaborate with hardware, product, and engineering teams across the development lifecycle. Responsibilities include system integration, validation testing, and field issue resolution, with a focus on robust, maintainable firmware and smooth hardware-software interaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EE/CE/CS or related field.
• Strong C programming and firmware/embedded software experience.
• Experience with Python for scripting and tool development.
• Familiarity with STM32 MCUs and embedded peripherals.
• Knowledge of UART, SPI, I2C, CAN.
• Experience with Git and version control.

Responsibilities

• Write, test, debug, and maintain firmware in C to support reliable system functionality.
• Develop supporting tools, utilities, and scripts using Python to improve development, testing, and troubleshooting efficiency.
• Interface software with hardware peripherals and communication protocols, including UART, SPI, I2C, andCAN where applicable.
• Debug and troubleshoot embedded system issues across firmware, hardware interface, and system-level operation.
• Collaborate closely with hardware, product, and engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Participate in system integration, validation testing, technical documentation, and release support.
• Work with Field Service and cross-functional teams to investigate, resolve, and document system issues encountered in the field.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Strong programming skills in C, with hands-on experience in firmware or embedded software development.
• Experience with Python programming for scripting, automation, testing, or tool development.
• Familiarity with STM32microcontrollers and embedded systems development.
• Good understanding of microcontroller peripherals, debugging tools, and embedded development workflows.
• Experience with embedded control systems and hardware-software integration.
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, or CAN.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
