Qualifications

• Bachelor degree required.
• Experience as an Instructional Assistant or Teaching Assistant or comparable pastoral youth support role in a school setting.
• Demonstrated ability to build warm, trusting relationships with children while maintaining high behavioral expectations.
• Strong nurturing, restorative, and de-escalation instincts.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, teachers, and families.
• Collaborative team player with a growth mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive and responsive social-emotional and behavioral support to students and teachers.
• Conduct morning check-ins and facilitate brief movement routines to support regulation.
• Monitor student well-being and identify early signs of dysregulation.
• Develop trusted relationships with students at the assigned grade level and support self-regulation skills.
• Respond promptly to teacher signals for support to minimize instructional disruption.
• Implement de-escalation strategies and provide in-the-moment coaching during transitions and unstructured times.
• Guide restorative conversations and help repair relationships after incidents.
• Collaborate with Deans, PLC Coaches, and Principals on behavior data and planning.
• Maintain accurate behavior tracking records using school data systems.
• Communicate with parents professionally about incidents and progress.
