Job Title: Electrical Vessel Fleet Service Manager

Location: Pyxis Maritime Pte Ltd at Singapore

Reports to: Technical Director / COO

Employment Type: Full-Time


Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Fleet Service Manager (Electrical Vessels) to manage the operational reliability, maintenance scheduling, and safety of our electric vessel fleet. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with electrical propulsion systems, energy storage technology, and the ability to lead fleet-wide maintenance planning, shipyard repair coordination, and spares management—while maintaining strict adherence to safety and regulatory requirements, including those for hazardous areas.


Key Responsibilities:

️ Fleet Technical Management

  • Supervise and ensure the technical integrity and operational readiness of electric-powered vessels.
  • Monitor electric propulsion systems, battery storage, BMS/EMS, and other onboard electrical and automation systems.
  • Lead preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize energy efficiency

️ Maintenance Planning & Shipyard Attendance

  • Develop and manage Planned Maintenance Schedules (PMS) in alignment with OEM requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Attend vessels and coordinate shipyard activities, including dry-docking, inspections, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Review and approve shipyard worklists, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution

Spares & Inventory Management

  • Maintain and track critical spare parts inventory for electrical and propulsion systems.
  • Work with suppliers and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of spares and consumables.
  • Monitor stock levels onboard and shore-side to avoid equipment downtime.

Electrical & Energy System Oversight

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to high-voltage systems, converters, battery health, charging interfaces, and automation controls.
  • Monitor real-time system performance (via EMS, BMS, PMS) and implement optimization or upgrades where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements for battery rooms, high-energy compartments, and explosion-risk areas

Hazardous Areas & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure safe working practices in hazardous zones (e.g., battery rooms, fuel cells, shore charging interfaces).
  • Apply expertise in ATEX-rated equipment and hazardous area classifications per marine and industrial standards.
  • Implement and enforce safety practices in line with CompEx/ATEX standards

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with class society requirements, flag state regulations, and company standards (ISM, ISPS, MARPOL).
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance, and surveys.
  • Support technical audits and contribute to performance and compliance reports

Budgeting & Coordination

  • Prepare and manage technical budgets (OPEX/CAPEX) for repairs, maintenance, spares, and upgrades.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, ship crews, OEMs, shipyards, and regulatory authorities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in fleet technical management or onboard electrical engineering (preferably with electric or hybrid propulsion).
  • Strong knowledge of high-voltage marine electrical systems, battery energy storage, and propulsion systems.
  • Experience attending drydockings and coordinating shipyard repair scopes.
  • Familiarity with PMS/CMMS systems and inventory platforms.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with class notations for electric/hybrid vessels (e.g., DNV, BV, ABS green notations).
  • Experience in newbuild or retrofit or maintenance of vessels electrical system.
  • Passion for sustainability and next-generation maritime solutions.
  • Valid CompEx (ATEX) Certification – Competency in explosive atmospheres is required.
