Job summary

Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise major electrical production tasks for new build and repair vessels, ensuring adherence to project schedules and specifications.
  • Monitor defective electrical components on repair vessels, oversee troubleshooting activities, and submit service reports to the Repair Project Manager upon vessel delivery.
  • Raise purchase requisitions (PR) for electrical materials required for both new build and repair vessels.
  • Provide on-site support during electrical system commissioning or troubleshooting, including coordination with external vendors.
  • As required by the project, travel overseas to resolve vessel warranty issues and ensure satisfactory resolution.
  • Able to establish the Material Estimate Take-Off (METO) based on electrical system schematic and Shipyard’s workmanship standard.

Requirements:

  • Nitec/Diploma or any Professional Certification holder in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
  • More than 5 years of relevant working experience in maintenance of high voltage equipment in marine industry preferred.
  • Good proficiency in English language to communicate with different stakeholders.
  • Possess good communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team to deliver results under pressure and within tight deadlines.
