Job description

Tanker seagoing location: Marina South Pier, West Coast Pier

Mon to Fri 9AM to 6PM, (Sat 9AM to 1PM, on need basis)
Job scope

  • Troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, repairing electrical systems and components onboard ships.
  • Carrying out testing and calibration of gas detectors in workshop.
  • Supervising external contractors
  • Assist crew and Superintendent with ordering the correct spares.
  • Provides detailed work reports.

Requirements

  • Higher Nitec / Diploma in Electrical / Mechatronic
  • 1 year of Marine Service Engineer experience
  • Electrical schematic drawings interpretation
  • Shipboard electrical systems knowledge such as:Engine control and alarm system
    Fire alarm system
    CO2 / water mist system
    OWS / ODME
    Ballast water Management System
    Cargo monitoring system
  • Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays
  • Ability to work in anchorage and shipyard
  • Adaptability in changing environments
  • Eager to learn and acquire skills for new products, system, tasks.
  • Strong work ethic
  • Effective situation handling (ship crew)
  • PC proficiency (Microsoft Office)
