Job summary

MSD Malaysia is seeking an Intern/Co-op for a fixed-term placement in Singapore. The role supports maintenance activities, project coordination, and supplier qualification across a biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

You will collaborate with supervisors and cross-functional teams to ensure safe operations and timely execution. The position requires an engineering or science diploma with 1–2 years of experience, strong communication skills, and an interest in the life sciences industry.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate in Engineering or Science related fields.
• 1–2 years of working experience preferred.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Interest in biopharmaceutical industry and safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to complete assigned work activities timely and efficiently.
• Assist supervisor to manage projects and coordinate vendors/contractors for maintenance.
• Support maintenance inventory management and spare parts control.
• Contribute to quality system improvement programs (QSIP) and SOP updates.
• Assist in cGMP supplier qualification processes.
• Supervise third party contractors where applicable.
• Support SHE improvement initiatives and incident investigations.
• Diagnose equipment issues and help identify root causes.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Provide support to complete assigned work activities timely, efficiently, and satisfactorily.
• Provide support and assist supervisor to manage the projects.
• Coordinates vendors and contractors on maintenance activities, such as equipment installation, servicing, testing, and commissioning.
• Support maintenance inventory management (Spare parts of equipment /instruments)
• Support quality system improvement program (QSIP) roll out initiatives such as SOP, instructions, PM task list, etc.
• Support cGMP supplier qualification process.
• Support Contractor & Vendor management (Qualification, monitoring and documentation).
• Supervise and oversee Third Party Contractors, where applicable
• Support Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) improvement initiatives (i.e., audits, training, etc.)
• Involve in brainstorming and simple diagnostic of equipment failure to determine the root cause and lead/perform investigations.

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE

• NTC / ITC / Diploma in Engineering, or Science or its equivalent
• Min 1-2 years of working experience
• Good working experience in Project Management, or Mechanical or Electrical & Instrumental sectors will be an advantage
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong interests in biopharmaceutical industry
