Job summary

Private Advertiser in Singapore seeks a Supervisor, E&I to oversee electrical and instrumentation installation, maintenance, testing, and commissioning at site.

You will lead technicians and subcontractors, allocate work by priorities, and ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, methods, and standards while coordinating with multiple functions to keep projects on schedule and ensure safety.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Certificate/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or related discipline.
  • Typically 5–10 years of E&I experience with supervisory exposure.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical/instrumentation drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day E&I installation, maintenance, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Lead technicians and subcontractors and allocate work according to priorities and schedules.
  • Ensure electrical and instrumentation works comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and applicable standards.
  • Coordinate installation of LV/MV electrical systems, cable trays, cabling, lighting, earthing, motors, MCCs, control panels, and related equipment.
  • Supervise instrumentation works including transmitters, control valves, junction boxes, impulse tubing, instrument cabling, and field devices.
  • Conduct inspections and ensure proper installation, termination, calibration, testing, and commissioning.
  • Read and interpret electrical single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, instrument loop drawings, and datasheets.
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, mechanical, civil, QA/QC, and HSE teams to resolve site issues.
  • Monitor manpower, materials, tools, and equipment to maintain project schedules.
  • Identify installation problems and provide practical solutions or elevate technical issues when required.

About the role

Key responsibilities

Requirements
  • Diploma/Certificate/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related discipline.

  • Typically, 5–10 years of relevant E&I experience, with supervisory experience preferred.

  • Experience in industrial, oil & gas, petrochemical, manufacturing, marine, or construction environments is advantageous.

  • Good knowledge of electrical and instrumentation installation, testing, and troubleshooting.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

  • Familiarity with relevant electrical/instrumentation standards and site safety requirements.

  • Good leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage site activities and work effectively under schedule pressure.
