Job description

Job Overview:

As an Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems that are integral to the operation. You will work closely with the Project Manager and other engineers to ensure that all electrical work meets regulatory and safety standards while supporting the overall goals of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Electrical Design & Planning:

Develop and review electrical design drawings, schematics, and blueprints for the project.

Ensure that designs comply with all relevant regulations, codes, and safety standards.

Provide input into the selection of materials, equipment, and suppliers.

2. Installation & Testing:

Supervise the installation of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.

Conduct and oversee testing and commissioning of electrical systems to ensure functionality and safety.

3. Compliance & Safety:

Ensure that all electrical work complies with local building codes, electrical codes, and safety regulations.

Implement safety procedures and conduct regular inspections to prevent electrical hazards.

4. Troubleshooting & Maintenance:

Essential to ensure safe and reliable electrical system performance. During installation and operation, control panels are inspected to verify that all wire terminations are correctly installed, securely tightened, and accurately labeled according to the approved schematic drawings. Any issues such as loose connections, wiring errors, or malfunctioning components—such as relays, contactors, or PLC modules—are identified and promptly rectified. Similarly, DB panels are checked for proper load distribution, secure cable terminations, and the correct functioning of protective devices such as MCBs and RCDs. Regular maintenance activities include tightening of terminals, thermal scanning for hotspots, cleaning of enclosures, and testing of circuit continuity and insulation resistance. These preventive measures help avoid unplanned downtime, reduce the risk of electrical faults, and ensure compliance with relevant safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.

5. Documentation:

Prepare detailed reports, including technical documentation, testing results, and system performance summaries. Maintain accurate records of electrical work, including specifications, diagrams, and progress updates.

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ on site experience in electrical trouble shooting and installation, preferably within the construction industry.

Knowledge: Familiar with electrical control panel system, installation of DB panel and safety regulations related to construction projects.

Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Proficiency with electrical design software.

Certifications: Any relevant certifications, such as Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) or equivalent, will be an advantage.

Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.

Key Attributes:

-Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

-Willingness to be hands-on and work in a construction site environment.

-Ability to lead and coordinate electrical teams on-site.
