Job summary

SUMMIT TALENT PTE. LIMITED is seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer to support maritime consultancy projects, including vessel systems, port facilities, and offshore electrical installations.

The role covers design review, troubleshooting, site inspections, and commissioning across new builds and retrofit projects. You will review electrical designs, conduct on-site surveys, assist in commissioning and testing, analyze schematics, and collaborate with shipowners, contractors, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 1–5 years of experience in marine, shipyard, offshore, or industrial electrical systems.
• Basic knowledge of power systems, motor control, PLCs, and switchboards.
• Willingness to travel extensively, including short-notice deployments.
• Comfortable working in shipyard and onboard vessel environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills demonstrated through hands-on troubleshooting.
• Effective communication with multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing conditions.
• Ability to perform under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections, surveys, and troubleshoot electrical systems onboard vessels and at shipyards to resolve issues.
• Assist in commissioning, testing, and validating electrical and control systems for operational readiness.
• Analyze technical drawings, wiring schematics, and system documentation to support project execution.
• Collaborate with shipowners, classification societies, contractors, and vendors to meet project requirements and compliance.
• Ensure adherence to maritime standards and safety regulations such as IMO, SOLAS, and classification society requirements.
• Provide technical input for retrofit, repair, and upgrade projects to enhance system performance.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation following site visits and inspections for project records.
• Support project engineers and senior consultants in delivering project milestones and objectives.

• Analyze technical drawings, wiring schematics, and system documentation to support project execution

Requirements

• Minimum a Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• 1–5 years of experience in marine, shipyard, offshore, or industrial electrical systems (fresh diploma holders with strong interest considered)
• Basic knowledge of power systems, motor control, PLCs, and switchboards
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including short‑notice deployments
• Comfortable working in shipyard and onboard vessel environments
• Strong problem‑solving skills demonstrated through hands‑on troubleshooting of electrical systems
• Effective communication skills for engaging multiple stakeholders and coordinating project activities
• Ability to work independently, adapt to changing conditions, and perform under pressure
