A leading semiconductor company in Singapore is seeking a Facilities Electrical Engineer to manage and enhance the reliability of electrical systems. Responsibilities include ownership of electrical systems up to 22 kV, risk management, and project management. Candidates should have a degree in Electrical Engineering and relevant experience. This position involves collaboration with operations and local authorities, ensuring safety and compliance in all projects.
Take ownership of Facilities Electrical System (up to & including 22 kV), which includes Transformer, MSB/DB, Lighting, emergency power (Genset), uninterruptible power supply (UPS), earthing, lightning protection, harmonics filtering, Voltage sag protector, etc., and implement a TPM program.
Collaborate with facilities operations by providing engineering solutions to enhance systems' reliability and robustness.
Set up and manage a risk-based management system for motor management on critical electrical motors.
Support facilities operations in troubleshooting system problems and closing incident reports.
Update & conduct risk assessments for electrical system works.
Serve as a subject matter expert for LV & MV protection, LOTO procedures, disaster recovery documentation, and procedures.
Liaise with local authorities such as EMA, NEA, PowerGrid when required.
Track monthly loading of critical systems (Transformer, MSB/DB, etc.) and perform capacity studies for expansions/upgrades.
Act as a gatekeeper & advisor for electrical capacity planning and allocation.
Plan, design, tender, and manage expansion/upgrading projects with a focus on safety, zero incidents, and budget control.
Ensure PPE & safety equipment such as rubber mats, rescue hooks, voltage testers, etc., are available.
Monitor lighting & power consumables and optimize processes to reduce costs.
Oversee performance of service contractors to ensure safety and timely service delivery as per SLAs.
Develop annual budgets for service contracts, projects, spares, and utilities.
Update existing M&E procedures, work instructions, FMEA, and develop new ones if needed.
Develop and update PM scope, work instructions, and checklists for RFQ.
Manage documentation related to service reports, asset database, spare parts, manuals, and drawings.
Participate in audits, work groups, and training related to quality, safety, and environment.
Act as the area owner for the 6S program covering facilities.
Develop and conduct training for facilities staff on new installations or procedures.
Occasionally available after hours, weekends, and holidays for incident response.
Liaise with QA, EHS on calibration matters for instruments & sensors.
Maintain a registry for calibration of instruments and critical control devices, ensuring scheduled calibration by certified vendors before expiry, optimizing processes to reduce costs.
