Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design, develop and optimise electrical systems for its operations in Singapore. You will drive innovation, ensure reliability and support the company’s strategic electrical infrastructure initiatives.

The role requires 3–5 years of professional experience, a degree in Electrical Engineering, and strong skills in AutoCAD, ETAP and MATLAB, with a focus on safety and standards compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in electrical engineering or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of design principles, circuit analysis and power systems.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, ETAP, MATLAB or equivalent tools.
• Familiarity with IEC/IEEE standards and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems, circuits and components.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join us. This is a pivotal role within our engineering team, where you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimising electrical systems and components that are critical to our operations. As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a key part in driving innovation and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our electrical infrastructure, whilst contributing to the strategic objectives of the organisation.

What you'll be doing

1. Design and develop electrical systems, circuits, and components using industry-standard software and tools

2. Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for new electrical projects and initiatives

3. Perform detailed calculations and simulations to validate electrical designs and ensure compliance with relevant standards

4. Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems

5. Troubleshoot electrical faults and implement corrective measures to minimise downtime

6. Prepare technical documentation, including schematics, diagrams, and specifications for electrical systems

7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with other engineering disciplines

8. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, industry codes, and company standards

9. Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and sustainability

10. Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members as needed

What we're looking for

1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from a recognised institution

2. Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, design, or a related field

3. Strong knowledge of electrical design principles, circuit analysis, and power systems

4. Proficiency with electrical design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, MATLAB, or equivalent tools

5. Experience with electrical safety standards and compliance requirements (e.g., IEC, IEEE, local regulations)

6. Solid understanding of PLC programming and industrial automation systems

7. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

8. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

9. Professional Engineer (PE) certification or Professional Technologist (P.Tech) registration is advantageous

10. Experience in power distribution, renewable energy systems, or industrial electrical applications would be beneficial
