Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical engineering projects from concept to commissioning, including LV/MV systems, power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and government authorities (e.g., BCA, LTA, EMA).
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, and calculations (e.g., load studies, cable sizing, protection coordination).
  • Ensure designs comply with Singapore standards (e.g., SS IEC, CP5, Singapore Electrical Code) and client requirements.
  • Oversee BIM (Revit MEP) modelling and clash detection for integrated MEP systems.
  • Validate equipment selection (switchgear, transformers, UPS) and vendor submissions.
  • Ensure adherence to Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act and SCDF fire safety regulations.
  • Obtain necessary permits (e.g., Electrical License, TOP, CSC).
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to verify compliance with EMA (Energy Market Authority) guidelines.
  • Prepare tender documents, BOQs, and cost estimates.
  • Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Monitor project expenditures and manage variations/claims.
  • Troubleshoot electrical faults and ensure seamless handover.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in electrical systems engineering or technical support, ideally in energy storage, battery systems, power conversion systems or related fields.
  • Good interest and understanding of battery systems, energy storage technologies, electrical integration, Electromagnetic Interference with a focus on optimizing overall system performance.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical schematics, knowledge of battery technologies (lithium-ion, NMC, LFP etc.), and experience in system-level troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical engineers, software teams, and project managers.
  • Strong data analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve system issues quickly, with a drive for innovation and continuous improvement in battery systems and ensure close loop feedback with design team.
