Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

· Ensure all designs are delivered on time and within scope as per project specifications and client requirements.

· Attend meetings at the shipyard and with other clients, and present design drawings and documents for submission to classification societies or clients.

· Support the project manager, engineering manager, and general manager with site technical issues.

· Manage the technical relationship with the shipyard and clients.

· Create technical specifications for suppliers, liaise with suppliers or subcontractors, oversee procurement technical aspects, and assist purchasers in negotiations.

· Assist the Commercial department in preparing cost estimates for HVAC projects based on client RFQs.

· Plan, prepare, and estimate bids for equipment installation and maintenance.

· Ensure emergency equipment, communication, and electrical systems are in place.

· Continuously improve work procedures.

· Coordinate electrical and instrumentation activities with department heads.

· Resolve electrical and instrumentation issues.

· Assist with equipment upgrades, roll-outs, and setup.

· Perform electrical detail engineering work, including load calculations, transformer and MCC sizing, short circuit calculations, transient load studies, motor acceleration, protection relay coordination, termination, layout, hazard area classification, material take-off, TBE, and procurement.

· Design, plan, and oversee testing, commissioning, software programming, and supervision of BMS on-site, according to project plans and specifications.

· Analyze plans, specifications, and contracts to determine project requirements.

· Prepare submittals with schematics, descriptions, and technical literature, maintaining current design documents throughout the project.

· Prepare engineering re-estimate reports and minimize variances.

· Perform testing and commissioning of BMS.

· Possess HVAC experience and prepare sequences for BMS.

· Prepare BMS technical submittals, method statements, compliance statements, and OMM.

· Develop IO point schedules, assignments, and select materials with value engineering.

· Be aware of risks and implement controls in the work environment.
