Electrical Engineer

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Electrical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the electrical design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of automated systems, with a strong emphasis on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and electrical wiring. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of our robotic equipment and other automated systems within construction environments.
Responsibilities:
1. PLC Programming and Troubleshooting:

• Develop, program, and debug PLC-based control systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) to meet project requirements.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose PLC logic and hardware issues to minimize downtime.
• Modify and optimize existing PLC programs for improved performance and functionality.

2. Electrical Wiring and Circuit Design:

• Design and develop electrical schematics and wiring diagrams for automated systems.
• Oversee the installation and termination of electrical wiring and cables, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex wiring and circuit problems.

3. Commissioning and System Integration:

• Perform system commissioning, including configuration, calibration, and testing of electrical and electronic components.
• Integrate PLC systems with other equipment, such as sensors, actuators, motors, and robotic systems.
• Ensure seamless communication and data exchange between different system components.

4. Maintenance and Support:

• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and automated systems.
• Provide technical support to on-site personnel and resolve electrical issues in a timely manner.
• Develop and maintain accurate documentation of electrical systems and PLC programs.

5. Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to all relevant electrical safety codes and regulations.
• Implement safety measures to protect personnel and equipment during installation, operation, and maintenance.
• Conduct risk assessments and identify potential electrical hazards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in PLC programming (e.g. Siemens STEP 7, TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley RSLogix).
• Strong knowledge of electrical wiring, circuit design, and control systems.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet).
• Familiarity with robotic systems and automation equipment is a plus.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work in construction environments and travel to job sites as needed.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical).
• Knowledge of motor control systems and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
• Experience with HMI (Human-Machine Interface) programming.
• Familiarity with Singapore electrical standards and regulations.
