Job Description
Fugro is the world’s leading Geo-data specialist, unlocking insights from the Earth to support safe, sustainable, and efficient operations across offshore renewables, oil & gas, and infrastructure.
As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of Fugro’s transition from traditional hydraulic ROVs to next-generation, autonomous subsea vehicles. Your work will directly impact the development of sustainable, remotely operated technologies that reduce environmental footprint and enhance operational safety.
Your role
Reporting to the Electrical Team Lead, the duties and responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer will include:
• Work in a team of experienced electrical engineers on the design and development of ROV.
• Work closely together with oversees R&D centers, internal production teams and global operational teams for integration and testing in ROV products.
• Plan, conceptualize, and create electrical designs for new ROV products.
• Perform engineering calculations to support design work
• Develop testing procedures and participate in testing and validation of designs together with workshop technicians.
• Create and review technical drawings, plans, part lists, specifications and technical bulletins.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors.
• Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process.
• Ensure project timeline is met, and project stays within budget.
• Engage in technical design discussions and help drive technical architecture.
• Support prototype evaluation / test sessions with the innovation centers.
Your track record
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or in a related field.
• Fresh graduates or at least 2 years of experience working in engineering design work.
• Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing electrical (Power LV and MV) and control systems.
• Proficient in using CAD software such as SolidWorks, including electrical harness, AutoCAD / GStarCad, E3 or similar for electrical connection drawings.
• Experience or proficient in industry recognized certificates such as DNV, ABS, Lloyds Register, BV, IECEx etc.
• Experience in electrical component selections and incorporate to design.
• Experience with PLC+HMI and Scada (PCVUE) is an advantage but not a requirement.
• Good technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability.
• Must be self-motivated and a great team worker.
