Job summary

Sumitomo (SHI) Cyclo Drive Asia Pacific Pte Ltd seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the growing engineering team in Singapore and across Southeast Asia. You will design, develop, program, test and commission electrical control systems, MCCs, PLC and HMI/SCADA solutions for industrial projects.

You will work closely with customers, project managers and suppliers, handling wiring diagrams, FAT/SAT, and compliance with IEC and local standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in electrical control system design and industrial automation.
• Proven experience in PLC-based control systems and VFDs.
• Knowledge of IEC Standards, Singapore Standards and electrical safety requirements.
• Experience with BMS, HVAC controls and Energy Management Systems preferred.
• Willingness to travel within Singapore and Southeast Asia.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical control systems, MCCs, and power distribution equipment.
• Develop PLC, HMI and SCADA applications.
• Configure industrial networks (Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, BACnet, MQTT).
• Perform sizing calculations and prepare technical specifications.
• Produce single-line diagrams, schematics, and panel layouts.
• Coordinate with customers, project managers, and suppliers from concept to commissioning.
• Provide technical support and documentation.
