Job summary

A leading company in automation technology is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to design and develop advanced machinery control systems. This role requires a strong background in electrical engineering, with hands-on experience in automation technology, programming PLCs, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Qualifications

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop machines control systems, with motion controller, robot, PLCs, HMIs, and servo drives.
  • Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
  • Program and configure control systems to meet specific project requirements.
  • Source and select control components based on project specifications.
  • Execute control system setup, including IO system configuration, servo and step drive setup, and axis tuning. Ensure the proper functioning and integration of control components.
  • Conduct testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of control systems.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software developers, and other stakeholders to integrate control systems into larger machinery.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations.
  • Provide technical support and training to manufacturing and maintenance teams.
  • Participate in project planning, including cost estimation, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Maintain detailed documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve control system designs.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in designing and implementing control systems for electrical machines.
  • Proficiency in programming PLCs, HMIs, and motor drives.
  • Experience with CAD software for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, E3, EPLAN).
  • Strong knowledge of control theory, electrical circuits, and automation.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, IEEE, NEC).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Singaporean only.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with robotics and motion control systems.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, CAN).
  • Proficiency in programming PLCs, HMIs, and motor drives.
  • Experience with simulation software (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink).
  • Certification in Control Systems Engineering (CSE) or related credentials.
