Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in testing and commissioning of electrical power systems.
• Experience in metro rail, industrial, power generation, or infrastructure projects is advantageous.
• Knowledge of SCADA, ETTS, substation automation, and power distribution systems.
• Sound understanding of LV/MV electrical systems and commissioning methodologies.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and commissioning procedures.

Job Summary

The Electrical Commissioning Engineer supports planning, coordination, and execution of testing and commissioning for electrical power systems. This includes performing commissioning tasks, analyzing test data, resolving technical issues, preparing documentation, and collaborating with project teams to ensure successful delivery per specifications and standards.

Responsibilities

• Execute and coordinate testing and commissioning activities for LV and MV electrical systems following approved procedures to ensure system readiness
• Review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, technical specifications, and commissioning procedures to verify accuracy before site execution
• Prepare commissioning schedules, test procedures, method statements, and documentation to support efficient commissioning activities
• Conduct pre-commissioning, functional testing, system verification, and performance testing to validate electrical system functionality
• Analyze test results to identify technical issues and recommend corrective actions for timely resolution
• Perform fault diagnosis and provide technical support during commissioning to maintain system integrity
• Prepare commissioning reports, inspection records, test results, and project handover documentation accurately and within deadlines
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and technicians to facilitate smooth project execution
• Ensure commissioning activities comply with project specifications, quality standards, statutory requirements, and workplace safety regulations
• Support energisation, integrated system testing, and project handover activities to meet project milestones
• Participate in project coordination meetings and provide engineering support to resolve technical challenges
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Project Manager or Commissioning Manager to contribute to project success

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline
• Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in testing and commissioning of electrical power systems
• Experience in metro rail, industrial, power generation, or infrastructure projects is advantageous
• Knowledge of SCADA, ETTS, substation automation, and power distribution systems is beneficial
• Sound understanding of LV/MV electrical systems and commissioning methodologies
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and commissioning procedures effectively
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to recommend engineering solutions
• Effective communication and coordination skills for working with multidisciplinary project teams
• Proficient in preparing technical reports, commissioning documentation, and project records
