We provide Underground Utilities Infrastructure construction and maintenance, sewer pipeline rehabilitation, road and airfield construction and maintenance as well as asphalt pre-mix production and construction waste recycling.


DESIGNATION : EHS Officer

RESPONSIBILITIES

The EHS Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) standards, developing and implementing safety plans, and addressing non-conformance issues on-site. This role involves driving safety initiatives, conducting root cause analysis, facilitating training, and ensuring the continuous improvement of safety practices. The EHS Officer also leads accident investigations, performs proactive inspections, and supports the overall goal of maintaining a safe work environment across all project phases.

  • Develop and prepare the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) plan for the project, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and address areas of non-conformance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) standards, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Conduct thorough analysis to determine the root causes of non-conformance to WSH standards, and recommend effective solutions.
  • Evaluate various approaches to problem-solving and assess their potential impact on outcomes related to WSH compliance.
  • Organize and facilitate learning initiatives to enhance team knowledge of WSH standards and best practices.
  • Develop actionable plans based on the most effective solutions identified during WSH solution discussions, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Innovate and apply novel approaches to address complex safety and health challenges.
  • Drive WSH-related activities within the department to ensure full compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
  • Lead investigations into accidents, collaborating with the team to prepare detailed reports for all relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct proactive site inspections, providing guidance and training to teams on best practices for safety and compliance.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or Head of Department (HOD).


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Possess a valid MOM-registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) license.
  • Minimum Specialist Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Workplace Safety and Health, accredited by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in construction or utilities projects, preferably with exposure to SP Group and LTA related works.
  • Strong knowledge of the WSH Act, relevant regulations, and industry-specific safety standards.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with various stakeholders including contractors, consultants, and site teams.
  • Experience in implementing HSE policies and maintaining related management systems.
  • Strong skills in audit reporting, including identifying findings and recommending appropriate preventive and corrective actions.
  • Possession of a valid Class 2 or 3 driving license is an advantage (to support site mobility).
