Job summary

NB Development in Singapore is seeking a seasoned Workplace Safety and Health Officer to lead the site safety team and ensure the effective implementation of safety systems across building projects. You will collaborate with operations, project managers, and subcontractors to address safety and health concerns, conduct regular inspections, and drive continuous safety improvements.

A strong background in ISO 45001/14001 and MOM WSHO registration is required, with willingness to work alternate

Qualifications

• Must hold MOM registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) designation.
• Must be NEA registered Environmental Control Officer (ECO).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in building and construction projects.
• Experience working on HDB projects is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ISO OHSAS 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Willingness to work alternate Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site safety team and subcontractors to implement and maintain safety systems.
• Collaborate with site operations staff and project managers to address safety and health concerns promptly.
• Supervise safety practices and promote safe conduct on site.
• Inspect workplaces regularly to identify and rectify unsafe conditions.
• Identify and correct unsafe work practices to maintain compliance and safety standards.
• Conduct safety inspections and audits to detect hazards and perform gap analyses.
• Assist in reporting accidents and conducting investigations to determine causes and preventive measures.
• Facilitate toolbox meetings to communicate safety information and updates to workers.
• Support safety planning and develop strategies to prevent incidents on site.
• Assist in audits for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 to ensure compliance with standards.
• Liaise with government agencies, insurance companies, and auditors on safety matters.
• Perform any other duties under WSH Act.

• Assist in reporting accidents and conducting thorough investigations to determine causes and preventive measures

• Assist in preparing for and participating in ISO OHSAS 45001 and ISO 14001 audits to ensure compliance with standards
• Liaise with government agencies, insurance companies, and auditors regarding safety matters and compliance
• Perform any other duties required under the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act

Job Requirements:

• MOM registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO)
• NEA registered Environmental Control Officer (ECO)

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in building and construction projects

• Experience working on HDB projects
• Proficient communication skills to engage effectively across departments and functions
• Strong knowledge of ISO OHSAS 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
• Understanding of construction industry activities
• Willingness to work alternate Saturdays
