Job summary

A global chemical company in Singapore is seeking an EHS Engineer to ensure regulatory compliance and enhance workplace safety. The successful candidate will implement EHS policies, support safety audits, and deliver training to employees. A diploma in WSH or relevant field and at least 3 years of experience in EHS roles are required. Strong communication skills and familiarity with EHS management systems are advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in EHS roles in chemical or process industries.
  • Good understanding of local EHS regulations and standards.
  • Registered WSHO and FSM certifications are advantageous.
  • Experience in preparing reports for regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing and delivering EHS training and programs.

Job description

Role:

EHS Engineer will be part of the EHS team responsible for ensuring work site complies with all regulatory requirements as well as corporate safety standards in the workplace. The incumbent is expected to conduct effective safety training to employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local regulations and company standards.
  • Support risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to ensure workplace safety.
  • Support incident investigations and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate and deliver EHS training programs to employees and contractors.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through regular engagement, communication, and presence on the shop floor.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EHS legislation, standards, and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including waste management, emissions control, and sustainability initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Diploma/ Degree in WSH or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in EHS roles in chemical or process industries.
  • Good understanding of local EHS regulations and standards
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented and ability to work independently and part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with cross-functional teams
  • Registered WSHO and FSM certifications are advantageous.
