Lam Research in Singapore is seeking a Workplace Safety and Health Officer to ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements across our manufacturing sites. You will administer and coordinate the Workplace Safety and Health Management Systems, conduct inspections, close audit findings, review risk assessments, and coordinate training for all personnel.

The impact you’ll make

Your main role is to ensure that Lam Research complies with regulatory and safety requirements. You will be responsible for administering and coordinating the organization’s Workplace Safety and Health Management Systems, processes and policies. This will include conducting safety inspections, closing audit findings, reviewing workplace risk assessments and coordinating safety training for all personnel.

What you’ll do

• Enter and examine worksite for potential safety violations
• Inspect any machinery, plant, installation or article in the worksite for potential violations
• Assess level of noise, illumination, heat or harmful or hazardous substances in the worksite and the exposure levels of persons at work
• Investigate any accident, dangerous occurrence or occupational disease that occurred. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders when an incident occurs
• Conduct audits and safety briefings to ensure conformance to safety requirements and policies
• Establish mechanisms and strategies to implement and monitor compliance requirements
• Perform role of Safety Assessor for the inspection/assessment of Permit-to-work system
• Notify local EHS manager of unresolved compliance issues and seek EHS guidance in implementing corrective actions as needed
• Represent business unit on EHS committees and provide regular briefings to management and local EHS manager on the unit’s program status, trends and risks
• Assist in applying for permits if certain work is required (hot work, working at tall heights etc)
• Maintenance of worksite safety records, certificates and documents
• Manage internal WSH systems, coordinate third-party visits, inspections and compliance audit at the workplace and submit reports to relevant stakeholders for review
• Support SEA Business Continuity Plan team and participate in tabletop exercises
• Any other related duties as assigned by the Immediate Supervisor

Who we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• At least 2 years’ experience handling WSH in a manufacturing site, preferably in the electronic or semiconductor industry
• Must be a registered Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Officer with the Ministry of Manpower and possess relevant qualification
• Possesses strong inter-personal and communications skills, both in written and spoken English
• Comfortable to interact with people of diverse backgrounds
• Is meticulous and maintains detailed and accurate records

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on‑site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
