Job description

Job Description: Vice President, Financial Institution Clients

At Citi, we connect millions of people across hundreds of cities and countries every day. With over 200 years of history, we leverage our unparalleled global network to provide a broad range of financial services and products to our clients—including consumers, corporations, governments, and institutions—to help them seize opportunities and face global challenges.

The Vice President will manage a portfolio of Financial Institution Clients, including Banks (including Central and Development Banks), Broker Dealers, Asset Managers, FinTechs, Insurance Companies, and other Financial Institutions as they arise.

The role involves building long-lasting, trusted relationships through deep knowledge of the segments and market trends, understanding clients' operations, organizational structure, and transaction banking needs. This will help expand Citi's product footprint. The Vice President will also act as the client's advocate within Citi to support the delivery of Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) services.

The incumbent will support existing clients' growth within their assigned portfolios, developing and executing a client-centric strategy that provides value-added solutions and an exceptional client experience. Collaboration with global teams is essential to ensure alignment across Operations, Service, and Onboarding partners, enhancing the client experience, including the implementation of data tools across client interaction points for responsiveness and proactivity.

Partnership with Product and Solution Sales teams is crucial to meet client needs. The role includes monitoring and supporting onboarding processes and service levels to ensure revenue growth and positive client experiences, addressing feedback with appropriate action plans. The Vice President will work closely with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, and Finance to ensure governance and control infrastructure are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute a client-centric strategy aligned with TTS growth objectives, including KPI implementation with functional partners.
  2. Manage and optimize the portfolio by developing deep relationships with key global and regional clients, focusing on cross-selling TTS products and services.
  3. Drive deal implementations and revenue realization in partnership with relevant teams.
  4. Deepen client relationships using industry insights and Citi’s global capabilities.
  5. Coordinate timely responses to client inquiries, working with Operations, Client Delivery, or Product Specialists.
  6. Communicate product migrations, regulatory changes, and market updates to clients.
  7. Support complex cash management deals, including RFP responses and client pitches, proposing innovative solutions.
  8. Act as the client advocate to resolve issues promptly, collaborating with product, delivery, and operations teams.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in sales or relationship management within large financial institutions, with a proven track record.
  • Understanding of market dynamics and client ecosystems.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese is required, as the role involves managing some Chinese-speaking clients.
