Programme Leader (Diploma in Performance)

The School of Dance and Theatre seeks to appoint a Programme Leader responsible for the academic leadership and management of the Diploma in Performance programme. Reporting to the Dean of the Faculty of Performing Arts and the Head of the School of Dance and Theatre, the role involves overseeing curriculum development, class planning, managing student projects and exhibitions, and ensuring quality assurance to meet academic standards. The Programme Leader will manage resources, including staff and visiting artists, and will also teach within the programme and other related courses.

The role emphasizes staff professional development, practice, and research, encouraging applications from individuals with an established professional practice and research profile.

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate qualification (preferably PhD or MFA) with substantial professional practice.
  • At least eight years of tertiary-level teaching experience and five years of professional experience in performing arts.
  • Experience teaching performing arts in multicultural contexts and knowledge of the Singaporean and regional arts landscape.
  • Seven years in course/programme management, including team management.
  • Proven skills in curriculum planning, budgeting, and programme delivery.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to inspire students.
  • Experience in acting teaching, especially Stanislavskian techniques, and acting for camera.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and possess good pastoral skills.
  • Research profile in performing arts and education, with mentoring experience.
  • Understanding of student recruitment and social media promotion.
