Responsibilities

The Business Risk Integrated Control (BRIC) team is missioned:

• To protect TikTok users, including content consumers, creators, and advertisers;
• By securing platform health and community experience authenticity;
• Through building infrastructures, platforms, and technologies, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

The BRIC team works to minimize the damage of inauthentic behaviors on TikTok, covering areas such as account integrity, engagement authenticity, anti-spam, API and growth health, live streaming security, and financial safety (ads or e-commerce). In this team, you'll have a unique opportunity to gain first-hand exposure to the company's security strategies, especially in building scalable, robust, intelligent, privacy-safe, secure, and user-friendly systems and solutions. Our challenges are complex and evolving, requiring innovative solutions.

• You will be part of a team developing novel solutions to address new challenges in a dynamic product ecosystem.

The work requires speed, transferability, and practicality to make quick, impactful differences.

Responsibilities

• Develop infrastructure and tools to enable construction, deployment, and operation of risk defense algorithms and machine learning models at scale.
• Enhance capabilities for risk prevention, detection, and remediation across TikTok's various businesses.
• Create tools and automated processes to support risk analytics and enforcement.
• Maintain state-of-the-art risk control solutions focusing on data security, modularity, privacy, and compliance.
• Improve end-to-end risk service/platform/tooling Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Lead technical direction for cross-team initiatives and mentor engineers in risk infrastructure and tooling best practices.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Programming Languages, High Performance Computing, Security Research, or related fields.
• Strong coding skills and experience building distributed systems.

Proficiency in Linux, Spark, Flink, Kubernetes, with the ability to learn other tools quickly.

• Extensive experience in building scalable distributed backend systems.

Proven ability to solve infrastructure challenges (e.g., complex I/O requirements), with strong coding and system design skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with machine learning infrastructure or applications, or real-time stream computing systems for social/content platforms.
• Proficiency in Go or Rust is a plus.
• Demonstrated ownership and proactive communication skills.
• Experience in a leadership or high-impact engineering role within a large-scale internet business.
