Job summary

A leading company in Singapore is seeking a Supply Chain Planner to develop purchasing strategies and manage supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in engineering or supply chain management and at least 2 years of relevant experience. You will work collaboratively with various teams to ensure production requirements are met while optimizing costs and maintaining quality standards.

Job description

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute purchasing and material planning strategies in alignment with production schedules and inventory targets.

  • Issue purchase orders to suppliers based on MRP (Material Requirements Planning) data and demand forecasts.

  • Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery standards are met.

  • Track order status and expedite or defer deliveries as needed to align with production requirements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, engineering, and quality, to resolve supply chain issues.

  • Analyse demand trends and supply risks to anticipate and prevent potential disruptions.

  • Support cost reduction initiatives by identifying sourcing opportunities and negotiating with suppliers.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and industry regulations.

    Job Requirements

  • Min Diploma in any Engineering discipline or Supply Chain Management or Procurement

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in buyer, planner, or similar supply chain role

  • Preferably in Oil & Gas, Aviation, Off-shore Marine or Semi-con industry

  • Proficient in using Excel at least “Pivot table” level

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast pace working environment independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent communication skills, meticulous, resourceful, able to multi-task

  • Contract may be extended subject to work requirements
