The Position:
As an Interior Design Project Manager, you will work closely with our Design team to oversee and manage interior design projects from inception to completion.
Main Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Develop a comprehensive project plan with the project director, including defining project objectives, scope, timeline, and budget. Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and the design team to understand project requirements and expectations.
- Budgeting and Cost Control: Work closely with our QS to manage the project budget and ensure adherence to financial constraints. Obtain cost estimates from suppliers and contractors, and negotiate pricing when necessary.
- Material and Resource Selection: Work with the design team to select appropriate materials, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment for the project. Ensure that selections align with the designer's and client's preferences, project goals, and budget.
- Communication: Act as the main point of contact for clients, keeping them informed of project progress, milestones, and any changes. Maintain clear and regular communication with the design team, project team members, and co-founders.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections and reviews to ensure that the interior design work meets quality standards and aligns with the project specifications.
- Project Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, specifications, change orders, and other relevant records.
- Problem-solving: Stay positive and anticipate and address project challenges and conflicts. Find positive solutions to overcome obstacles and keep the project on track.
- Site Management: Work closely with sub-contractors to oversee on-site activities, ensuring correct and safe execution of construction and installation processes. Maintain good relationships with sub-contractors to ensure smooth work processes.
- Post-Project Evaluation: Conduct evaluations to assess project success and gather feedback from clients and team members. Initiate changes to improve team productivity and efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in an interior design office.
- Good knowledge and understanding of AutoCAD, proficient in utilizing its capabilities.
- Positive mindset in communication with team members, clients, sub-contractors, and co-founders.
- Team player with execution grit.
- Solid understanding of interior design principles, construction processes, and project management techniques.
