Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Fixed Income Business Analyst (BA) for a leading Japanese Bank with deep domain expertise and a strong consulting mindset to support complex initiatives within the Fixed Income space. This role requires excellent project and stakeholder management skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with senior business leaders, traders, and technology teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the Fixed Income domain, bridging the gap between business and technology
- Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for Fixed Income initiatives
- Collaborate with traders, portfolio managers, operations, and IT to drive solution design and delivery
- Apply a consulting approach to problem-solving and stakeholder engagement
- Lead and manage projects or programs, ensuring clear alignment of goals, scope, and timelines
- Deliver impactful presentations and reports to senior stakeholders and decision-makers
- Support change management, user training, and post-implementation reviews
- Open to short-term travel as required by project needs
Must-Have Skills & Qualifications- Strong domain and technical expertise in Fixed Income products and workflows
- Proven experience in business analysis within the financial services sector
- Strong consulting approach with ability to influence and drive business decisions
- Solid project/program management experience across cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Prior experience working directly with senior stakeholders and front-office (e.g., traders)
Good-to-Have Skills- Bilingual (English and Japanese) preferred but not mandatory
- Familiarity with Japanese work culture and business practices
Preferred Background- Experience in global banks, asset managers, or consulting firms
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMP) are a plus
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related fields
