Job description

As a leader in the Digital Asset CoE the Portfolio Management & Governance will support the Global Head, Digital Assets, and senior leaders across CCIB, SC Ventures and CPBB to ensure the effective management and prioritisation of the group’s Digital Asset initiatives. This leadership role will oversee the portfolio of Digital Asset related initiatives and act as a point of escalation for issues and impediments. This role will lead the development of the portfolio management and reporting infrastructure, in line with group and industry best practice, enabling SC as a Digital Asset organisation. This role will also be responsible for managing the strategic investment in Digital Asset initiatives across the relevant Refinement Forums. This role will also have responsibility for supporting the Asia leadership team in the development and execution of the regional strategy as it pertains to Digital Assets. This is a 9-month fixed term contract.

Business

  • Understand the Digital Asset market opportunities and prioritise initiatives with the highest potential commercial return. 
  • Align strategy and investment by working with the Global Head, Digital Assets and the relevant Business heads & COO teams. 
  • Work across business lines and functions to coordinate executions and assist in the establishment of the appropriate design for delivery of Digital Asset Capability. 
  • Manage the delivery portfolio in the most prudent manner possible. 
  • Act as a subject matter expert for Asia in identifying and prioritising the commercial opportunity for Digital Assets for the region. 

Processes

  • Simplify complicated ideas into actionable, measurable pieces and communicate those ideas to key stakeholders to generate buy-in
  • Drive support and collaboration for projects at all levels (senior and junior to you) and bring others to action
  • Develop processes in relation to portfolio management and governance and own the following processes: Coin Assessment and Higher Risk Framework.
  • Collaborate with Technology and Operations functions to ensure appropriate frameworks and operational infrastructure are in place to support efficiency in the delivery of Digital Asset initiatives.

People and Talent

  • Set an example across the group not only with respect to the Group Valued behaviours but also in terms of Digital Asset knowledge and engagement to reinforce a culture of excellence in Digital Assets.
  • Support the Global Head, Digital Assets and the relevant business and initiative lead in the acquisition of world class Digital Asset delivery talent.
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations, work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
  • Adherence to code of conduct prescribed by relevant authorities 
  • Work with the Asia leadership team by advising on the acquisition, retention, and development of talent in the region. 
  • Develop appropriate reporting and oversight for Digital Asset initiatives including the reporting and escalation of Risks and Issues.
  • Support the relevant Risk initiative leads to develop the appropriate methodologies for embedding Digital Assets.
  • Adhere to all Group Policies and relevant legislation covering credit, operational, reputational risk among others. 
  • Commitment to Group Code of Conduct and act as a role model for Conduct 
  • Timely completion of all mandatory e-learning, attestations, compliance requirements and requests for information. 

Governance 

  • Ensure effective portfolio governance and regular reporting across the portfolio of Digital Asset initiatives. 
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
  • Willingness to ‘speak up’ in the event of any realised or perceived breach of group conduct rules or laws by colleagues
  • Willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner. 
  • Support the Asia team in their engagement with Digital Asset governance structures.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Prepare regulatory updates on the Digital Asset portfolio.
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of 
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • 8+ years experience in the financial services industry
  • Demonstrated market knowledge of Digital Assets, Crytpo and Web3. Fintech also considered favourably. 
  • Demonstrated experience with high growth companies in the execution of business plans and initiatives. 
  • Demonstrable experience working across large groups of complex stakeholders. 
  • Excellent Presentation and PowerPoint skills 
  • Familiar with modern productivity tools, ADO Teams, Slack, Trello, Mural, Jira, Confluence
  • Education - University graduate preferred
  • Certifications - Relevant technology or crypto/blockchain certifications
  • Languages - Excellent spoken and written Business Communication
