Job description

A*STAR is Singapore's lead public sector agency that spearheads research to advance scientific discovery and develop innovative technology.

The Research Excellence and Foresighting (REF) department under A*STAR's Research Office (RO) helps to enable scientific excellence. This includes conducting ideation workshops and championing long term research planning. It also fosters collaboration through networking events, evaluates scientific quality by convening external evaluation panels and recognising talent through nominations for awards. The REF department works closely with the other 2 RO departments, namely Research & Grants Management (RGM) and Research Integrity, Compliance, Ethics & Support (RICES) to fulfill the mandate of the Research Office.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic associate to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a motivated individual who has a passion for organising events and helping to support the day-to-day running of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, organising, and executing events and award ceremonies
  • Assist in designing and planning platforms for networking, collaboration and ideation
  • Coordinate schedules and logistics for key meetings
  • Prepare briefing materials and documentation for evaluation panels
  • Assist in facilitating communication between evaluation panels and internal teams
  • Develop and distribute electronic direct mailers (EDMs) to promote events
  • Conduct procurement for materials, catering and other items
  • Support on-site event logistics, including setup and breakdown
  • Assist in creating post-event reports and analysing event success metrics
  • Perform other duties and administrative functions as assigned by Reporting Officer

  • Comfortable in professional interactions with high-level academics and scientists
  • Diploma in Marketing, Business Administration, or other related fields are welcome to apply
