JOB PURPOSE:

Ensure Hotel guests have a comfortable environment and enjoyable stay, with total guests’ satisfaction, at Aloft Singapore Novena. Responsible for the smooth functioning of guestrooms, F&B outlets, and other hotel facilities across both properties. Instill a culture of preventive maintenance within the team and manage the properties’ facilities and equipment, such as air-conditioning systems, fire protection systems, water distribution, and electrical installations.

Night Shift Allowance - $10 per shift

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Responsible for the maintenance and repair of building facilities, Mechanical and Electrical equipment (M&E), Audio Visual equipment (AV), and plant rooms, both in-house and outsourced, following Hotel’s policies and procedures.
• Conduct routine M&E rounds and metering during duty shifts with the shift technician, rectify defects, carry out engineering projects, and report in the Duty Engineer Shift Report.
• Ensure smooth operation of facilities and services during duty shifts. Attend to work orders in guestrooms, F&B outlets, and common areas with the shift technician, ensuring all tasks are completed within hotel policies and meet operational and guest satisfaction.
• Provide technical support and advice to hotel guests and internal teams to ensure operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
• Respond to and manage emergencies and crises during duty shifts according to hotel policies and procedures.
• Implement Green initiatives as part of the hotel’s CSR policies.
• Perform supervisory or executive functions, assisting with departmental strategies and policies.

ABILITIES / KEY COMPETENCIES / SKILLS:

• At least 3-5 years of experience in hospitality and/or building services.
• Strong hands-on knowledge in M&E, preferably in air-conditioning and electrical systems.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Analytical skills to identify problems and develop feasible solutions.
• Leadership skills to lead a team of shift technicians.
• Willingness to work on shifts and public holidays.
