The IOT Specialist Role

The IOT Specialist will join our software delivery team, responsible for designing, developing, and deploying Smart & Safe City software applications.

What will you do?

1. Support the development and review of IoT/OT security frameworks and risk assessments based on the latest IoT security best practices.
2. Manage IoT/OT governance to meet cybersecurity requirements under the security framework.
3. Translate IoT/OT security frameworks into technical specifications for business users and project teams.
4. Review and evaluate IoT/OT risk assessments submitted by teams, providing cybersecurity guidance.
5. Engage external auditors to identify and remediate security gaps in projects.
6. Collaborate with stakeholders, including senior management and regulatory bodies, for governance and compliance.
7. Participate in the full software development lifecycle: requirements, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
8. Assist in on-site deployment at customer locations for trials or POCs.
9. Work with presales teams to develop technical proposals based on RFPs.
10. Apply best practices, explore new technologies, and ensure high-quality solutions.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess:

• At least 3 years of post-graduate IT experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in IoT/OT.
• Knowledge or experience in:

1. IoT/OT protocols (e.g., MQTT, Modbus, LoRa, Zigbee).
2. IoT/OT device management and security best practices.
3. Industrial Control Systems (ICS), SCADA, PLCs, DCS.
4. Operating systems such as Windows or Linux.
5. Networking technologies like LAN, WAN, DNS, DHCP.
6. Willingness to learn cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
7. Optional: domain knowledge in Smart City platforms, government C2/C3 solutions.
8. Experience in backend development (.NET C#, C++, Go, Java).
9. Preferred experience with sensor/device integration, system integration, microservices, containers, Kubernetes, AI/LLM, and AI deployment.
10. Motivated, passionate about software development, and adaptable to fast-changing environments.
11. Experience with agile methodologies, version control, automated testing, DevOps, CI/CD is a plus.
