As a Systems Engineer, you'll lead the team in resolving issues during R&D NPI and Life Cycle Management projects, develop and execute a technology roadmap, and support cross-functional teams with system understanding. You'll identify innovation sources, research disruptive technologies, and align technical solutions across projects. Additionally, you'll promote innovation, maintain an IP pipeline, lead system requirement definition, risk analysis, and FMEA creation, and develop the team in reliability, sustainability, and continuous improvements. You'll also focus on developing innovative mechanical designs based on specifications and collaborate with the project team and manufacturers to quickly introduce quality products to the market.

This position reports to the Systems Engineering Manager and is part of the Research & Development Medical located in Singapore and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Project Roadmap: Play a crucial role in creating the project roadmap and workflow requirement for Medical Division together with Product and R&D Management.
  • Design Input and Transfer: Provide the Project Manager with all input from other ongoing and upcoming development activities impacting his project. Assure the compatibility of components from related project including 3rd party. Define System requirements, system risk analysis and System FMEA. Work out all input for the Design Transfer for the overall system and assure the compatibility of components from related project including 3rd party.
  • Technical Concept Responsibility: Predetermine direction of the technical concepts used in the projects directly involved.
  • Verification & Validation: Support planning of V&V, predetermine suitable test/measurements settings. V&V includes all aspects.
  • Mechanical Engineering: Help and support mechanical components/systems procurement. Combine market needs with mechanical solutions, implement the product specification in a completed solution including all dimensions and tolerances.

The essential requirements of the job include

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in medical engineering, mechanical engineering
  • 7 years of R&D experience and competence in Systems Engineering, optics, imaging, and mechanics related field
  • Familiarity with innovation techniques and technologies, and a general understanding of various engineering disciplines (Imaging, Optics, Electronics, Mechanics).
  • Strong communication skills with customers, Product Managers, R&D, RAQA, and suppliers.
  • Ability to balance trade-offs between technologies, customer demand, and costs (production, R&D)

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience in a similar position and operation, preferably in the Medical Device Industry with knowledge of Surgical Microscopy.
