About the role
We are seeking an experienced IT Support Technician to join our dynamic team at Mooreast Asia Pte Ltd. In this full-time role, based in the Shipyard West Region, you will play a crucial part in providing comprehensive IT support and troubleshooting to our organization, working alongside our outsourced professionals.
Job description
- Manage regular maintenance where applicable
- Handle faults related to PCs, notebooks, peripherals, and printers
- Maintain desktop hardware configurations and operating systems; handle software troubleshooting and set up new PCs with standard office applications
- Troubleshoot user dial-up problems, and manage restrictions on USB/storage media, personal email, and cloud services; suggest BitLocker drive encryption when appropriate
- Provide email support for desktops
- Install, upgrade, and relocate PCs, notebooks, and peripherals
- Ensure all users can log in to the company network
- Detect and eliminate computer viruses
- Troubleshoot problems encountered by end users
- Perform asset tagging, manage access card/RFID issuance, and oversee security controls
- Handle end-user IT requests with SPOC approval
- Create monthly case reports and monitor issues using Excel spreadsheets
- Liaise with third-party IT suppliers on server management and replication, ensuring overall server security
- Conduct functional and user acceptance testing to facilitate fast delivery across various user groups
- Provide technical alternatives, recommendations, or solutions to end users
- Review and suggest improvements for current processes and procedures
- Maintain software licensing, domain and email hosting, cloud messaging gateways, and cable patching works
- Carry out annual vulnerability assessments on internal servers to identify and mitigate system vulnerabilities
- Plan and conduct annual Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) tests, maintain documentation, and implement necessary updates
- Install patches, update network security policies, reconfigure network devices, and educate users about social engineering threats
Job requirements
- Minimum Diploma / Degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience in Linux/Nakivo web environments
- Knowledge of programming/scripting for servers and web services
- Hands-on experience in LAN network setup, maintenance, support, and troubleshooting; experience with load balancers and web accelerators is a plus
- In-depth knowledge and experience are preferred
