Job description

What the role is:

With expertise in quantitative market research methodologies spanning the entire data lifecycle, the individual will work closely with other business users to enhance understanding of Singapore's visitors, markets, and tourism products. The individual will play a pivotal role in using data to guide planning and strategies of stakeholders, helping to refine and address business problems as well as identify growth opportunities for Singapore’s tourism industry. This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of the data lifecycle, including research design, data collection, data management, data analytics, and distilling key insights.

What you will be working on:

1. Quantitative Market Research & Data Analytics

a. Conduct end-to-end quantitative market research, covering methodology, sampling, fieldwork, and data collection. Ensure data quality through outlier management and data weighting for accuracy.

b. Perform data wrangling and transformation to prepare data for analysis, applying statistical techniques and using visualization tools to communicate findings.

c. Translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations for stakeholders.

d. Deliver insights addressing business questions via reports, visualizations, etc.

2. Project Management

a. Oversee primary data collection, ensuring quality and compliance.

b. Act as a data custodian for key datasets, working with stakeholders to manage and ensure data relevance.

c. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for smooth project implementation.

d. Work with cross-functional teams to integrate data feeds, models, and dashboards into analytics platforms.

3. Reporting, Stakeholder Management & Advisory

a. Manage tourism performance data, reports, and publications.

b. Understand stakeholder needs and provide timely advice on research projects.

c. Offer quantitative research advisory, including methodology, data collection, and analysis.

4. Data Capability

a. Lead efforts to increase data usage among business users.

b. Share best practices to uplift data capabilities within the organization.


What we are looking for:

- Degree in a quantitative discipline: Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related.

- At least 5 years of relevant experience in data collection, processing, analysis, and visualization, with proven advanced analytics skills.

- Good mastery of research methodologies, quantitative and qualitative.

- Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented, with problem-solving experience using quantitative methods.

- Excellent organization, project, and time management skills.

- Ability to synthesize data from multiple sources into meaningful conclusions.

- Experience with dashboards and visualization tools like QlikSense and QuickSight is advantageous.

- Strong communication skills to convey complex data insights clearly.

- Experience managing projects with external stakeholders and vendors.

- Ability to work in dynamic, fast-paced environments with cross-functional teams.

- Mature, confident in presenting to senior management.

- Excellent command of English, proficient in tools like R, Python, SQL, Excel, Power Pivot.

- Proven stakeholder engagement skills and vendor management experience.
