Job description

Senior Sales Manager (Leisure)

The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing and driving the overall catering sales business for the hotel. This role involves strategic planning, team management, client relationship building, and revenue generation.

Reporting to the Director of Business Development, the incumbent will be responsible to: -

  • Work closely with the sales team to generate catering leads with close follow-up and monitoring of leads leading to conversion.

  • Identifies, qualifies, and solicits new weddings and MICE businesses to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals.

  • Responds to incoming leads and solicit partnership with other business partners for leads generation.

  • Conduct sales calls and tele-sales to develop new social business.

  • Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence).

  • To review Prospect events in Opera or Delphi and have full control of function room usage to maximize yields.

  • Work with Director of Sales – Events to oversee Daily BEO Meetings, Weekly Resume Meeting, Pre-Con Meeting (Both Internal & External).

  • Attend meetings to review BEO and ensure last minute changes are communicated to Banquets, AV, Kitchen, Stewarding & Front Desk.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of competitors’ major strengths and weaknesses and selling and pricing strategies.

  • Source for partnership opportunities with freelance wedding MICE organisers, bridal retails, MICE intermediaries and other merchants to generate leads and create exposure for the hotel.

  • Maximizes revenue by up-selling packages and creative food and beverage.

  • Works with Director of Sales - Events to create, implement and execute annual sales plan addressing revenue, customers and sales activity plan based on owned portfolio to achieve the overall catering segment.

  • Implement and execute catering sales promotions and initiatives.

  • Closely monitor weddings and MICE account revenue and business production. Adjusts strategies and key actions to achieve the targeted goals.

  • Be accountable for and meet all measurable targets and goals as assigned for team and individual.

  • Achieve and maximise hotel occupancy, guest rooms and catering revenue.

  • Follow through event management flow process from the initial stage until the end of the event or group departure. Be visible to organiser and clients during their event and group and constantly seek feedback on guests’ satisfaction.

  • Gains understanding of the property’s primary target customer and service expectations; serves the customer by understanding their business, business issues and concerns, to offer better business solution both prior to, and during the event.

  • Works directly with the organizers on their event programs and requirements to provide professional advice to facilitate and assist on their planning.

  • Listen and comprehend client's need and goals.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of work experience in a similar capacity in the hotel industry.

  • Strong business acumen with excellent analytical and problem resolution skills.

  • Energetic, proactive, self-driven, highly motivated and has excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Adaptable, determined and be someone who wants to be in a fast-paced environment that promotes changes and drive for achievements.

  • Able to work independently and in a team.
