Job description

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for patching and vulnerability management of Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX Servers, Solaris VM, and IBM VIO.
  • System administration of Linux/Unix environments.
  • Perform patch assessments and recommend/plan deployment strategies.
  • Conduct BIOS and firmware upgrades.
  • Monitor and maintain logs.

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • 8-12 years of experience in Linux/Unix system administration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in SLA-driven environments.
  • Ability to work in a flexible, team-oriented, and dynamic environment.
  • Availability to work on weekends as per roster and provide on-call support during weekdays as needed.
  • Hands-on experience with RHEL, HP-UX, Solaris, and AIX servers.
  • Knowledge of cluster management software.
  • Proficiency in patch management and vulnerability management.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills related to OS & hardware issues.
  • Extensive experience in OS and hardware/firmware patching.
  • Experience with patch management tools like BigFix, SCCM, etc.
  • Experience automating pre and post-patching tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of RAID technologies (RAID 0+1, RAID 1, RAID 5, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of clustering (geo-clusters, multi-node passive/active).
  • Knowledge of server management tools.
