Architectural Designer Job Description

The Architectural Designer is responsible for preparing shop drawings, fabrication drawings, as-built drawings, cutting lists for fabrication, and other supporting drawings for site and production. These include window, door, glass, curtain walling, and cladding drawings.

He/She works closely with construction professionals to provide designs, sketches, plans, and analysis of design projects. The role may involve specializing in a specific type of aluminium facade.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Estimating materials and hardware for purchase purposes.
  2. Coordinating all architectural drawings and works, preparing, submitting, and updating the status of shop drawings, as-built submissions, and material approvals.
  3. Coordinating with Architects, Structural Engineers, M&E Engineers, and Sub-contractors to resolve construction problems and ensure timely progress.
  4. Producing variations of architectural designs for review by engineers and architects to ensure correctness, technical accuracy, and adherence to architectural standards.
